Add more than just buildings to your digital map. You can add in your client's current location, a list of competitors or highlight locations that are of interest to your clients. All of this data will assist you in communicating the full story to your clients.
In order to do this, you will add what is called a Map Layer. A Map Layer will house location pins on it. You will be able toggle this Map layer on and off when showing a client the survey.
Navigate to the button called "Map Layer" above the Building Summary Cards:
A pop-up will appear called "Map Layers". You will be invited to name the new Map layer. As a reminder, the location pins will live on this map layer. For example, if you want to add a current location of a client's building, you can type in "Current Location" to the Layer Name.
Customize Map Layer
Next, click "Show Layer Details". In this expanded view, you will find how to change the color of this layer's location pins. Click the color rectangle and choose from a gradient of colors. You can enter a RGB, HSL or #HEX color as well as use the eye dropper to find the color you'd like.
You can add an icon representing a client's logo, the location logo or a star icon to denote that this location is important on the share view. You can upload a CSV file here with a list of locations that you'd like to add to your map. Click Download CSV template to access how to set up your CSV file. The accepted fields are: Name, Street 1, City, State & Zip code. Click "Create Map Layer" when you are ready to add the location pins, also known as Map Markers.
Add Map Markers
Once you are on Map Markers view, click on "+Add Map Marker" and fill in the address of the first pin/marker that you would like to add. As you type in the address, the system is going to populate with known addresses from Google Maps. Click on the address you'd like to add. You can search locations on here as well. For example, you can add all the nearest Starbucks to your survey. Type in Starbucks in this field and Google maps will give you a list of all nearest Starbucks stores. Click to add each one to your Map Layer.
Under Name, enter the name you'd like this specific pin to have. The client will be able to click the pin in share view and see the name of the location. Examples include current location, coffee shop, a near by school or business or a competitor of the client.
In the Description field, enter what you'd like to show under the Name when the client clicks on the location pin. You can add details about the location or important data you'd like to highlight to your client.
If you would like to customize this location pin, separate from the other location pins on this map layer, check the box "Use Separate Icon or Color for this marker". Attach the icon or set the color of this specific pin.
Click "Create Marker" when you're ready to add this marker/pin to the Map Layer.
Continue adding more markers, but clicking "+Add Map Marker". Continue the same process until you've added all desires markers to this Map Layer.
Click out of the Map Layers box to view your changes on the survey. These Map Layers will be added to the PDF report that you generate.
