Filter the Property Database and Search a Map Area

Narrow your properties, available spaces and comps with filters, search within a radius or a drawn boundary, and find where the old filters went.

The Property Database has three tabs, Properties, Available Space and Comps, and each one has its own filters. This article covers searching, filtering, searching an area of the map, and where each of the old filters went.

Search

Type in the search box at the top of the page to find a property by name, street or city. On the Available Space and Comps tabs, the search also matches space and comp names. Results update as you type.

Add a filter

  1. Click Filter.

  2. Click a filter to open it.

  3. Choose a value. Property type lets you tick several types at once. Every other list takes one choice.

Filters with two ends, such as Size or Created date, have Min and Max boxes (or After and Before for dates) in one menu item. Fill in one or both. Number and date boxes apply when you press Enter or click out of the box. City, County and Tenant apply as soon as you stop typing, and match part of a name.

Filters on each tab

  • Every tab: Property type, Submarket, Property label, City, County, Survey, Added by, Updated within (7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 1 year) and Created date.

  • Available Space adds: Availability (For Lease or For Sale), Size, Rate, Rate type, Lease type, Available before, OpEx and List / asking price.

  • Comps adds: Comp type (Leased or Sold), Size, Sale price, OpEx, List / asking price, Tenant and Closed date.

Property label matches labels on the property itself, not labels on its spaces or comps. Created date is the day the record was added to ScoutSpace.

Change or remove a filter

Each filter you use shows as a chip next to the Filter button.

  • Click the chip's value to change it right there.

  • Click the x on a chip to remove it. A two-ended filter is one chip, such as "3,000 – 10,000" or "After Jan 1, 2026", so removing it clears both ends.

  • Click Clear all to remove every filter and map area at once.

Switching tabs

Filters that work on every tab stay on when you switch between Properties, Available Space and Comps. Filters that belong to one tab, such as Availability or Comp type, are cleared. That's why a filter can seem to disappear when you change tabs.

Search an area of the map

In Map view, the bar above the map has two tools:

  • Set radius: move the map to the area you want, click Set radius and choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 or 25 miles, then click the map where the circle should be centered. Nothing changes until you click the map.

  • Draw boundary: click Draw boundary, click at least three points on the map, then click Apply boundary.

The area shows as an Area chip and stays on when you switch to Table. Click the chip's value to pick a different radius around the same center, or the x to remove it. You can also choose Clear radius under Set radius. A radius and a drawn boundary can't be on together; applying one replaces the other.

The map sets the area for the table

Map view shows only the properties inside the part of the map you can see, and the counts at the top of the page follow it. If you zoom in on the map and then switch to Table, the table keeps showing that same area. To see every record in the table, zoom out on the map first, or open Property Database again from the left sidebar.

Only properties with a map location appear on the map. On the Available Space and Comps tabs, only properties with a matching space or comp get a pin.

Where did my filter go?

If you used the earlier Property Database, here is where each filter is now:

  • Status is now Availability on the Available Space tab (For Lease or For Sale) and Comp type on the Comps tab (Leased or Sold).

  • Data freshness is now Updated within.

  • Owner is now Added by.

  • Labels is now Property label. It takes one label at a time and matches labels on the property only.

  • Lease structure is now Rate type, and Lease type and Size are on the Available Space tab (Size is also on Comps).

  • Effective rent (Rate) is now Rate on the Available Space tab.

  • OpEx and List / asking price are on the Available Space and Comps tabs.

  • Sold price is now Sale price, and the Close date is now Closed date, on the Comps tab.

  • The Available date is now Available before on the Available Space tab.

  • The Created date is now Created date on every tab.

  • Tenant is on the Comps tab.

  • New: City.

  • No longer available: Property ID, and the Expiration, Transaction and Commencement date filters.

Tips

  • Your search, filters, tab, Map or Table, and any open property are saved in the page address. Bookmark the page, or send the link to someone on your team, to come back to the same view.

  • Promoted Listings follow some filters and ignore others. See See Promoted Listings on the Property Database Map.
